Arrival

New notarized documents arrived at the DOS around 2:30 today. Please cross your fingers in hopes that they go through this time and don't send them back to us with a sad note telling us to re-do them. I might lose my mind.

Updates (kind of)

Well...we got the dossier back from the DOS a week or so ago with a stupid note about our notary's NEW stamp not being effective yet since the old one hadn't expired. They asked that we re-do with the old stamp (which, btw expired yesterday). Who would think you could renew and the new one wouldn't be in effect yet? It has an expiration date but not a start date. Another stupid hurdle. I guess it's job security for someone. At least they separated the good notary stamps from the bad. We had to re-do 60+ documents. It really wasn't such a big deal...just re-print, re-sign, re-stamp...but it was an annoyance and added time to something I had already scratched off my to do list.

On another note...the playhouse is coming along nicely! I had to put some stuff outside to dress it up. I can't wait until we get to the inside! Photos below!

A is for Agony

Ever since the dossier was mailed and we were put back on the waitlist I have been in agony. AGONY. A-G-O-N-Y. I don't know you yet, but I miss you. I feel like my life is one big waitlist. Waiting for the CIS form, waiting for the dossier to come back, waiting for a referral. WAIT WAIT WAIT. We started the process almost a year and a half ago. Looking back at old blogs it's amazing to see how hopeful I was last year at this time...never anticipating the hiccups that would come along. I know that things happen for a reason and that the time wasn't right, maybe our little one wasn't born yet. This I know to be true...but the wait wait wait doesn't get any easier.

I love you. I want you to come home. I want to hold you in my arms.

GNome HoMe!

Dedushka and Babushka are stilling working on the playhouse for the Burunduk (thank you thank you thank you) and it's coming along nicely. Please find attached some much belated and requested photos! I have no idea how to get these to line up...but you get the idea. The latest one has the white porch. With two dogs...we don't have a lot of grass over here! ~mama

Dossier packet ready for apostille. Tomorrow I will go to FedEx. One more step in the process complete.

That Easy? Really?

Only a few corrections to the documents! Hardly any really! They should arrive on our doorstep soon. YAY! Then will will fix them. YAY! Then we will have a few notaries done. YAY! Then we will wait for the I-171H form..BOO! Maybe it will be here soon. Fingers crossed!

Proof Positive

The documents have been sent out for review to make sure that we have done them correctly and that the notary is appropriate. We had planned on sending it the Friday before but the Sheriff's Office didn't like the wording of our letter so we had to re-do and it was another week before we could make it back to the office for them to do the background check and notary. This was the final document for the packet next to the I171 form that still hasn't come back. We knew this would take awhile. Once the agency is happy with the docs we have done and we have received the I171 it will all be mailed out for apostille. It would be nice to have the I171 in hand now so we wouldn't have to wait on it when the rest of the docs come back. I will continue to run to the mailbox everyday.

The playhouse was put on hold last week due to family visiting, but it will be back in full effect next week...hopefully will have a roof and some paint before Friday!!
